We are happy to introduce our special
paintings. After much investigation, the toxic free paints were our
first find. The research was completed with the rediscovery of a
company we had worked with in the past, Cal Western Paints in
California. They recently developed the gesso primer we needed to
create the chemical free and archival paintings. We can also use these
same paints in faux finishing walls. We are privileged to be one of the
first to apply this product, even before it received it's official
label. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to develop
paintings with the sole purpose of creating environmentally sound
artwork. We hope this is only the beginning. From start to finish, they
are handmade. The wood is cedar, cut to size and assembled in our shop.
We use 100% organic cotton canvas. Some larger sizes are stretched with
hemp. Both fabrics are sturdy and beautiful (different weights and
fibers are available, as are woods). We then use a chemical free gesso,
which prepares it for the final applications of the very beautiful
array of toxic-free paints.
